NEET Exam Pattern

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an all India level medical entrance exam for admission into undergraduate medical courses (MBBS/BDS) in government and private medical/dental colleges in India. Here is the exam pattern for NEET

Mode of Examination: The exam is conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode.

Duration of Examination: The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

Type of Questions: The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with 4 options and only one correct answer.

Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam is 180.

Marking Scheme: Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

Subjects and Marks Distribution: The exam consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The distribution of marks is as follows:

Physics: 50 questions attempt 45 (180 marks)
Chemistry: 50 questions attempt 45 (180 marks)
Biology: 100 questions attempt 90 (360 marks)
Language of the Question Paper: The question paper is available in 11 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Exam Centers: The exam is conducted in various cities across India and abroad.

Eligibility: To appear for NEET, candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Additionally, they must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.
